Support Townsend Park’s green spaces, trails and natural habitats by joining a team of volunteers to give it a spring cleaning! Townsend Park is home to many different areas, so there will be a variety of projects: habitat support, gardening, landscaping, trail maintenance, and other special tasks. This event is a great way to enjoy the spring weather and support your community! All supplies are provided, and volunteers of all ages are welcome! Note that meet up may not be at the actual park address. A map with directions will be sent to registrants prior to the project day.
Registration is required. For questions or registrations, email park.volunteers@kentcountymi.gov
NOTE: Projects are not canceled for light rain, but they may be delayed or canceled for heavy rain or weather advisories. Please dress for the weather and pack personal items such as water bottles, insect repellent, etc. We strongly recommend wearing long pants and work shoes or boots to all events. All tools and supplies, including light work gloves, will be provided on site. Waiver forms will be available on site, or groups/organizations may submit a waiver prior to the event date. Any child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or designated organization leader for the duration of the event. Although leashed pets are welcome at most parks, pets (except for service animals) are not permitted at volunteer events due to safety concerns.
